0. Services
An Extension Tour is a tour that you can add to a booked one. Thus, you can choose an Extension tour from our List of Extension Tours. Also, you may choose to glue together any two different tours from the website, meaning that you extend one with another.
Our tours fall into the following categories:
- Hiking Tours
- Mountain Biking Tours
- Climbing Tours (Sport Climbing and Multi-pitch climbing)
- Cross-Country Skiing
- Mixed Tours – tours that include more than one type of activity (for instance climbing and hiking).
- Extension Tours – tours that may be added to an existing main tour.
- Bucharest Day Tours
A tour categorized as mixed is a tour which includes more types of adventure activities. For instance, if a tour includes in its program both climbing and hiking, than this a mixed tour.
Beside Guided Tours, we can help you planning your own non-guided tour.
Thus, we offer outdoor itineraries a a service. We fully plan your route. Check HERE how it happens.
Yes we do. As we are an adventure outdoor company, our Bucharest tours are, as well, more active. You may find them in the Bucharest Tours Category.
1. Booking a Tour
Our tours can be booked for any day of the week. It is just a matter of availability. Yours in the first place and ours of course. You just specify when booking the exact period you consider for the tour and we will immediately contact you for fixing the dates.
All our tours are on demand tours and have no specific dates. They are options from where to choose and when you book a tour you also indicate your prefered period for it. Additionally, you may choose from our on demand tours listed on the website or you may actually fully customize your tour – Visit our Customize your tour page, for further detail.
You just need to go through the following steps:
- Browse our tours and choose the one you like most.
- Read carefully our Terms and Conditions (check them HERE). Once you book a tour they represent our Contract.
- Fill in the booking form. We will receive your data and preferences.
- Make an advance payment for reserving the tour as indicated in our Terms and Conditions.
2. Contract and Payment
No, we do not charge any extra fees or fuel surcharges. The listed price is the price you pay. Including tax.
We apply discounts to groups. But we set the amount of discounts based on the number of persons, the difficulty of the route, the equipment we need to bring and other factors like these ones. Please contact us directly to see the exact situation and we will come back with an offer.
You are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 30% out of the total price of the tour for your booking to be confirmed. The rest of the amount is to be paid at the beginning of the tour. If your booking is made within 30 days of the departure date then the full amount is payable at the time of booking. For more information, read our Terms and Conditions.
The booking system on the website guides you through the payment procedure. We use the Card Payment method and we are committed to a privacy policy. Please check it here!
The prices listed per tour are per person and we do our tours for any number of persons, including one. So, our tours are generally private and the price you see is the price you pay.
3. Reservation, cancellation and modification of tours
Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and they allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours.
For a cancelled tour we will propose to you a similar tour at a later date at your convenience. If you do not want another tour, Alpine Adventure Romania will pay you back the full amount you paid. However, we will not cancel a tour except in extraordinary circumstances (health problems, family issues or country emergency issues).
If you cancel a tour:
– 60 days or more prior to departure, we will refund the full amount paid by you;
– Between the date of the tour and maximum 60 days, we will retain the 30% deposit;
– While unfolding, we will retain 100% of the total amount paid for the tour.
Check our Terms and Conditions for more information.

Yes. We have section on our website dealing with the risks on the Romanian Carpathians trails. Read it here. It is a pleasant and instructive reading.
Yes. But, please, do not drift to far from the group.
Usually we go. But nevertheless, we want to enjoy the mountain and not to suffer unnecessarily. If the weather is that bad and you cannot postpone the date, then we can always change the tour with another similar one where the weather is better.
Some of the safety rules are specified in our terms and conditions. If you did not read them yet, please read them here. Anyway, before starting a tour, we always have a safety rules discussion so as we make sure everyone knows them.
We bring the team equipment.
We will solve any such problem locally.
7. Difficulty of a route
We estimate the difficulty of a route based on the following three factors: the physical effort implied (which is estimated looking on the positive and negative elevation gain of the tour), the technical sections of the route that need to be passed and the degree of risk implied (exposure, risk of injury and risk of falling).
For every tour posted on our website there is a tab indicating the level of its difficulty (Easy, Moderate, Difficult, Extreme). Aside for this, we strongly recommend you to contact us to discuss about your mountain experience and skills, your current fitness and based on this information we will evaluate the match between the tour you want and your capabilities. But our listed tours are so diverse and many that for sure you are perfectly capable of joining us in some of them (at least in any labeled as Easy).
8. Accomodation
That depends on the tour you selected / want. The options here are: hotels/guesthouses – for these you do needd to bring anything, mountain huts – a light sleeping bag might help, mountain shelters – matress, sleeping bag are a must, tent – bring all the equipment.
